Monthly Maker Check-In: September 2026

Monthly Maker Check-In: September 2026

September has been a good month. Balance was the name of the game. I got some projects finished, some projects started, and some projects just taking a little step here and a little step there.

What I Made This Month

Back to Eudaimonia Studio's Hand and Soul BOM for 2026. I can't believe the year is almost over and I will have a whole quilt for it! This block is Headwinds, and I love how it came together! Although I did have to get my seam ripper out several times...

I also finished a few projects for a future blog post on Orphan Blocks!

My best friend and Maid of Honor for the wedding helped me with some signs for the wedding, and I also made some Bridesmaid's Emergency Kits!

This snail house block is for our local quilt show this year! Every year they do a community based block challenge. This year it's sponsored by the local realtors, so house themed!

What Inspired Me

What inspired me this month was the amount of times I got to go to my local quilt stores and local yarn stores! Did I spend way too much money? Yes. Did I buy beautiful things? Yes. Will I use them all? Yes. So, money well spent.

I bought yarn for several projects ranging from the Tolsta Tank to the Relaxed Raglan to the Wheat Wave Beanie and the Sawtooth Beanie!

At the quilt shop, I picked up some coordinating fabrics and the backing & binding for my next quilt pattern!

Things I Loved

I got to bring my mom and my best friend in to help me with wedding projects a lot this month! Mom and I worked on rag banners, and Leah and I worked on the wood burned signs! Sometimes it's nice to bring others into the creativity.

I was also featured on an episode of Elizabeth Chappell of Quilter's Candy podcast Craft to Career! You can listen to my episode here.

New Ideas & Techniques I Want to Try

I'll be making the Patchwork Kicks as my shoes for the wedding, and I'm so excited to get started on them! How cool is it that I can make my own shoes!?!

I'm also really excited to learn how to use my Grace Q-Zone Hoop Frame, but I still think I'll probably have to wait until 2027 to actually have the time to sit down and figure it out...

Reflections on My Creative Process

There were a lot of times this month that I pushed projects out of the way for other things. So I didn't get as much as I wanted done, and sometimes that was because of exhaustion.. but other times it was because I chose to spend time with my friends and family instead!

Next Month's Intentions

October will be the month I finish THE REST OF MY WEDDING PROJECTS! Thankfully there's not that many left... but this rag banner is gonna be huge... so that will take some time.

Aside from that, I have a few project based blog posts and a few commissions to finish! As well as A NEW PATTERN COMING OUT! Get ready for the Block Party Coin Purse, coming October 8th!
