Monthly Maker Check-In: June 2026
Share
Hey y'all.
June has not been it.
Did I even finish anything?
Not sure.
I worked on projects, yes, but finished? Nope. Hardly anything.
What I Made This Month
I think the only thing I truly finished was Eudaimonia Studio's Hand and Soul 2026 BOM for June: Conversely.

I worked on a lot of wedding projects, but I am now in the MIDDLE of them all. Really overwhelming actually to be in the middle of a lot of things and not knowing what to finish.
I worked on a few crochet projects too, but I had to frog them because one had too loose tension and one I miscounted on several times. Frustrating.
What Inspired Me
Lots of things inspired me. So much so that I have a kajillion new ideas. But nothing inspired me enough to work on things apparently.
I really want to turn a few RSS Merry Happy mini charm packs into a sweatshirt.
I got a lot of RSS scraps from Kimberly of the Gluten Free Quilter and I am SO EXCITED to have time to play with them soon.
I have two commissions right now that I'm very excited about and will hopefully be in July or Augusts blog post.
I also got to go to the Belle Pointe Quilters Guild meeting in Ft Smith, AR, and I met Belle Brunner of Seams Sew Me.... WHO IS EXACTLY WHO I WANT TO BE WHEN I GROW UP! It was very exciting.
Things I Loved
This might seem paradoxical, but I did love SOME of the times that I was relaxing instead of "being productive", but also sometimes it was very frustrating knowing that I was piling up projects instead of working the pile down. Balance.
New Ideas & Techniques I Want to Try
I want to try some echo quilting on my applique tree table runner for the wedding. I feel like it's more simple than I'm making it out to be in my mind. One of my commissions is a baby quilt for a little girl, and I want to make it EXTRA cute by putting her name in it with FPP blocks and also doing a ruffle binding!
Reflections on My Creative Process
It's been rough. I'm not gonna lie. I've been in such a slump and it feels like I take one step forward and two steps back. My executive dysfunction has been kicking my butt. I have a list of things I need to do, but my brain just... stops. I don't know how to get past it sometimes.
Next Month's Intentions
I NEED to finish at least one, if not more, of my wedding projects. I'm going to a quilt retreat at the end of July, but I want to work on my commissions during that, so I'm going to try to get the wedding projects done before that. We'll see.
